Dr. Ray, how do I reduce or eliminate dark circles under my eyes? I’d rather not use heavy make-up like concealer on my skin, but don’t know how else to make these ugly circles go away!
Answer:
Dark under-eye circles are caused by dairy and wheat in the diet, so the first thing to do is eliminate both of those. The second thing to do is to cleanse your liver, which you can do daily by adding 1 teaspoon of ground milk thistle (found in bulk at most health food stores) to a morning Green Drink. Those of you who follow my newsletters and have read my book Do You Have the Guts to Be Beautiful? are familiar with the Green Drink, but for anyone who hasn’t heard of it, it’s a smoothie that you make with fresh fruit of your choice, ¼ cup ground flax seeds, several hands-full of raw greens (kale, chard, spinach, etc.), blended in a food processor or blender, with distilled or reverse osmosis water added to reach desired consistency. Adding the milk thistle for a few weeks at a time cleanses the liver, and is excellent for under-eye circles. You should also consider doing the 10-day Liver Cleanse outlined in Do You Have the Guts to Be Beautiful?
And I’ll let you in on a little secret: I am in the research and development phase of creating all-natural beauty products, which will offer ingredients that are so healthy, you could actually eat them (though you probably won’t want to because, you know, who really wants to eat their moisturizer? 🙂 )
