If you find yourself craving cold, sweet treats during the hot months, here’s an absurdly easy summer sorbet recipe that you can make in minutes using a Vitamix or food processor. The kids enjoy it just as much as ice cream, but it’s less expensive and far healthier than store-bought treats, and I don’t ever mind if they have seconds helpings.
I’m so excited to share all that we’ve been learning and experiencing as we continue our transformation into full-fledged family farmers. While we don’t sell the fruit and vegetables that we grow at home, my family and I produce far more than we could ever eat by ourselves, so our friends and neighbors get to share in the bounty of incredibly fresh, super-local food. Our first summer with Tower Gardens®, we grew peppers, strawberries, cauliflower, tomatoes, zucchini, broccoli, all kinds of salad greens, and dark leafy greens. We are able to grow all of this with a few hours per week of dedicated gardening time. To read the first part of our two-part series on becoming family farmers, check out this blog that Doug and I wrote together.
Thank you to everyone who expressed interest in our annual August Women’s Beauty and Rejuvenation Retreat. Because the retreat is limited to 8 participants, we don’t have enough space for everyone who would like to attend each year. Additionally, many people have indicated that they would like to participate in the training and education provided, but are either unable to attend for a full-week, or would like to explore a less expensive alternative. As a result, we’re planning to offer a special 4-week Beauty and Vitality Webinar, which will start in January, 2014. The webinar is a series of four presentations and discussions on how to flush fat and toxins, while rejuvenating your heart, mind, and body. Upcoming newsletters and my facebook page will contain more information in the coming months, so stay tuned.
Here’s to your health,
Dr. Mitra Ray
